I'm about a half mile from the evacuation zone. Guess I'm going to play it safe and walk up the hill, toward inland.

I did a big water change on the tanks earlier, in the case that we're without power later.

Maybe I'll hit up the bar down the road :) Cheers! :cheers:

First waves are supposed to hit in around 15 minutes. Hope everyone is on high ground!!!
 
Well it not the "Big One", but the surge was 3ft at the Chatham Islands (East of New Zealand) and 12-18" in the East Coast here.

Nothing big and dangerous but it's pushing a lot of water in and out of harbours and river mouths. Not so good if you were swimming or boating there.

But they have to issue a warning early, just in case. Once they figure you the exact size of the wave, it's too late.

Yep, same here. Looks like Hawaii is going to be fine. It was a bit of a false alarm, but better to be safe than sorry.
