My fish has had a tumor behind his eye for a long time now. It was more flat than bulky. It covered most of his gill plate, but It never seemed to bother him too much. He didn't have trouble breathing. Sometimes he would seem to become aware of it and would try to scrape it off for about 10 seconds. But, most of the time he acted no different. Last night I noticed it looked like he scrapped some of it off but didn't really think anything of it. I went to a friends party and then later that night when I came home I noticed my fish was dead. The tumor is completely gone. There is just a hole where it was. I don't understand how he could have managed to scrape it all 100% off. He also is a black moor so I don't see how he could scrape the part right behind his eye with out scraping his eye too. I never saw any of the other fish nipping at it or anything. It just seems really bazaar to me.
I took a photo.
