Hello,

This may be a dumb question:

I have a 30 gallon Fowlr aquarium. I added 4 Turbo snails and 4 emerald crabs as a clean up crew. The snails did a great job of cleaning any algae off of the live rock. Will the snails eat and or remove the good bacteria from the live rock? My Nitrate levels have been a little higher lately, just wondering. Thanks

4 emerald crabs? they will rip the coraline algea of your rocks. I had one in my 46 and had to get ride of the destructive monster. After a while he laid in waiting attempting to snare fish. They are cool, but I would guess that at least one will go rogue on you.

I agree...I have had 2 emerald crabs now. The one I had previously grew huge and also started to attack my turbo snails. He eventually died. The one I have now is still smaller but he hides all the time and has never been a problem (or a help from what I can see :( ).

I would think about getting rid of some of those crabs for sure.
