I never wanted to buy my driftwood either... the two pieces in the top tank were gathered by me (see my tank pics in my profile)
my favorite piece (the one with the hole in it) isn't really driftwood... I found it sticking out of the water at the beach in the perfect spot so that it was constantly being pounded by waves, I guess you could call it wavewood
(also the driftwood pictured in the 10 gal started to rot... so i gave it the boot and am sticking to wood that I find at the beach)
