OK! from all who have mentioned turnover...what would be the math formula to figure it out. 10 X ? for FOWLR and 25 X ? for corals...?

I'm an idiot when it comes to formulas, never my strong point in life...
Thanks

when you buy equipment, it has a stated gallon per hour rating..so, an example...take the maxijet 1200, has a gph ( gallon per hour ) of 295....so, if you had a 46 gal tank...multiply 46 x 10 which gives you 460Gals needed to be turned over...so, in above example, you would need two maxijet 1200's to give you the desired turn over, conversly if you do the same sum for 25 x turn over, 46gal x 25 = 1150 GPH water turn ovr required..so, in theory, you would use 4 maxijet 1200...but, in the real world, due to tank clutter, you would either do a close loop with a powerfull return pump, or buy a very powerfull powerhead, like Seio or Tunze Stream...

Of course, the above is just an example...but shows how to work out the flow rate required..

Is any help to you Brandy?
