Turtle Filter for Freshwater Fish

I have been using a ZooMed TurtleClean 318 Internal Filter for my Mollies/Danios in a 20 gallon tank after giving up my turtle. It says it is good for 10-30 gallon tanks. Is this submergible filter sufficient for this purpose? Are there any drawbacks (besides having to get wet to clean it)?

I'm not familiar with the filter but ppl do use submersable filters for fish. Sounds like it will be o.k..
