Seen some Galapagan ( or Galapagus, not sure) Turtle at my LFS 2 days ago. They look nice on a large tank with Silver Arowana, Marbled Gar and Fire Eel. GT about 4- 5 of them and are around 2-3 ". Can anyone share info about them, can't seem to find any from Searches on a handful of sites. It's labeled with an expensive amount and wordings VERY RARE next to it.

Hmmm... the only "g" turtle I know of like that is a Galapagos tortoise, and I can guarantee you it's not one of those. They're under massive protection and they're land tortoises, not aquatic turtles.

Maybe that's just a name they've come up with for them and not the actual species name, you know, kind of like "whales" are not actually whales, but mormyrids that kind of put you in the mind of a mammal....

Ask the lfs what the scientific name is for them and do a search on that. Maybe you'll get better results that way....

If it turns out that they are indeed galapagos tortoises, turn the lfs in to the police....the owner deserves to be shot for carrying very endangered species if that is the case....

Possibly a Fly River Turtle if it had flippers. I'm pretty sure they are the only freshwater turtle with flippers. And they are very very and very expensive.

unfortunately lfs attendants are all new and their STOCK MANAGER is on vacation thats why they could'nt help me. I'll try and see her hopefully by next week to get more info. oh yeah, and hopefully, the turtles are still there. will go nice with my Jardini but just don't wanna pick up something I don't know anything about.
Rare Cichlids got any pix or URLs on Fly River. Thanks
