Im getting a 120 gal tank on sunday... I want fish and a turtle...Is there a water turtle that doesnt need a platform to sit on??
Just a strictly underwater turtle??

No, nor is there a turtle that won't make a snack out of any fish tankmates--even if it's bite by bite.

LOL...... ok cool..

I have a 250g tank with 4 red eared sliders in it and a soft shell turtle. I put like 15 feeder fish in there so they can eat whenever plus I supplement them with repti vite minerals and some fresh plant matter. They also eat some of those repti turtle sticks from petco. so your answer is no I dont think there is a fish that they can be with. and of course ALL turtles need spots to be able to get out of the water along with a few good basking spots. Turtles lack gills therefore they cant breathe underwater!

well...i guess this aint gonna help much but my friend has a very large tank, maybe 500+gallons, and he has like...the trunk of a tree going down into it and coming out of the water, and in the tank he has a huuuuuge red tail catfish and a pretty large turtle. Ive never even seen the turtle get up on the tree trunk though...

oh well. but yes, like they above said, i doubt you'd be able to house any small fish with a turtle.

I've seen turtles housed in Koi ponds..but not in an aquarium with fish. Though, I'm sure with a big enough tank and big enough fish(like the forementioned Redtail Catfish), it could be done. Also, excellent filtration is a must with turtles.
