Hi, new to the forum and I thought someone may be able to give some helpfull advice, My tank has been running great with fish for a month with no problems, it completely cycled in two and a half weeks.

Last night my GT started acting strange (completely out of character) he started picking fights with everybody. Them started twitching like he was having a seizure. It would last about a full second, then he would eat and spit out a bunch of gravel like he was very hungry. Then start twitching again and the same cycle of behavior would continue. This all happened for about fifteen minutes total, until the lights turned off. I watched him for awhile after that but it was hard to tell.
This morning he seemed fine but I'm a little worried, Should I be?

75 Gal
1-3.5" Tiger Oscar
1-3" Green Terror
3-1.5" Convicts
6-1" Zebra danio (Oscar loves these guys)
1-6" Common Pleco

My water parameters are optimum-(Ammonia-0, Nitrite-0, Nitrate 30ppm(doing a waterchange tonight))Temparature-79, PH-7.0, Gh-10

He Could Be Doing Either One Of Two Things...marking Territory, Or That Is His Mating Call.....

As said above, he could either be maturing and displaying dominance/aggressive behavior or courting.

I'm not sure if you know this or not, but your current stocking will require at least a 100g, though a 120g would be better. Otherwise, you will run into serious territorial problems, and water quality will be difficult to maintain.

Thanks for the info, I get a little paranoid for my new babies. I'm getting a new 125gal in a couple of weeks, so everybody will have to get along for the time being.

My male green terror does this as well. He usually does it when he's trying to get lucky with the baby making female green terror. It nothing to worry about.

yup mine does this to picks up gravel spits it out, then he shakes" i call it the Pee Shivers" i have had mine for about 2 1/2 years they get big but there are awesome looking, and the attitude of GT's, they generally carry a chip on there shoulder
