Twitchy betta?

The filter wasn't the problem and I understand of course it is better for him with a filter. The filter I had also privided a lot of air bubbles that are apparently not needed with plants. I have solved the problem now and got him an elite filter. The other filter was out for less than 24 hrs so I don't think that should have caused any problems.

i am having the same issue as you with my betta, he twitches like crazy. Treated the water with 3 teaspoons of salt (3 gallon) and elevated temp. Hopefully it works

How long have you had him? Did he always do it? Keep me posted pls n tks.

Hey,

Ive had my one betta for 10 mnths now and he doesnt have a filter. Hes doing great. He does a lil twitch thing when he gets excited about his food time, but thats about it. Since getting him I have gotton 2 more. All in seperate tanks of course. Thery are doing great too. Even got them trained to the yellow fish food container.lol

Here are some betta sites that I found helpful when i was researching about mine.

It was really nice of u to rescue Leo like that. I feel sorry for the bettas in the pet store, that have to live in lil containers.

Hope you enjoy your betta as much as i enjoy mine

Don't you just feel so sorry for them...I would take every one of them home if I could. I understand why they do it but I still hate it.
As for Leo, he's still here and even though he's not feeling his best he's still very entertaining, I can already see he's going to have some personality quirks. He already recognizes both me and food but not the container yet. I'll work on that one.LOL
And thanks, it was nice to hear about happy betta's.

my betta thrived in a little 1/2g goldfish bowl for six months with some java moss. I had the twiching problem 2, at first, then I leared that the betta was just seeing his own reflection in the plastic, so I changed the lighting, and he stopped twiching once he couldn't see his own reflection anymore!:D
