Types of fish for a Biorb???

^ totally agree w that. Sorry I read your post as the betta option v the gourami/minnow option.

I think a few male fancy tail guppies along with live plants would look really need in a biorb.

Thanks I'm going to look into those. I definately dont want too many at the moment, since i'm relatively new to this. I'd like to take it slow. I'm going to go to the store today and check those out...

good idea - slow and steady is the way to do it. those suggestions will be waaaay happier for you and the fish.

I'd go with a school of Rasboras, myself...and a few shrimp.

I don't think cories should be added, as was suggested in a previous post. Not much bottom room for the lil guys :)

I think danios and any kind of barb would want more room than that, not sure about the white clouds... I'm holding some (7) in a 10g temporairily with 4 ghost shrimp, and I watch the shrimp and clouds at least as much as my big tank.

I dont think ive ever seen ghost shrimp. I will ask about them at the pet store.

I'd recommend stocking very lightly, as the shape of the BiOrb doesn't lend itself well to proper gas exchange, and the filtration seems inadequate. My suggestion to the OP is that if you don't already have the BiOrb, please consider a traditional rectangular tank. It will be easier to maintain a rectangular tank, it will be much cheaper to buy, and you'll have lots more options if you go with, say, a 10 gallon kit for less than half the price. JMO.:) If you already have the Biorb, I'd suggest a betta and some ghost shrimp or Amano shrimp, although some bettas can be ill-tempered toward shrimp.
