I bought a small 2.5" clam when I first saw it I thought it was a Squamosa. It was dark in mantle with fine tan-greenish stripes, almost maze like. The shell has the ridges on it. I did not know maxima had the ridges, but the guy at the LFS told me it was a maxima. Is there a group of maximas that have the ridged shell?
