UG clown loach cave

They use to stay in the cave all day and only came out during lights out. I just decreased the lighting over the tank from 130 to 32 watts and now they are out more (2 of the 3 at least). The dominant one of the 3 still prefers to only come out at night. They are happy, healthy and a blast to watch! I would not worry about a possible decreased visual for clown loaches. I have gone several days without seeing them in the past. Sometime I hear them more than see them!

clown loaches make *clicking noises thats so loud somw people mistaken it as their aquarium glass is cracking, they do it when there something such as eating.

what is the diameter of the pvc? It looks between 2-3 inches? That is such a great idea. I used to try to get my hamsters to use it in that fashion, and recently for one of our tortoises (his shell is to big for what we can easily find), why did I never tink to put it in the fish tank??

PS. the Balvenie pic, Scottracy, heh it is like looking around our home, my husband loves the stuff!

So the ends are the only places where it is visible above water? I don't remember, are there other fish in the tank and do they use it? I could see all my frogs clogging it up because they can't see where they are going...followed by the betta, who would then just sit for hours just because he is lazy.

Correct. The ends are the only exposed areas and they are pretty well hidden by rock.

The only other inhabitant that takes advantage of the cave is my pl*co and that is seldom. The clowns have very little competition from the rest of the gang!
