So what kind of algae is bright orange and fluffy?

Please ignore my betta's tail. He insisted on being in front of the camera lens, so I had to shoot around him :) silly bugger.

check your nitrates, you may have hard water or a high iron content. Do you have alot of light on the tank?

my suggestion is do a full water change and scrub everything down completely also clean your filters so that it wont re introduce the algae again.

Yeah, I did a huge water change and removed it all. I just found it interesting that it's orange; I think I've had every other color except orange. It's a 6 gallon tank with a single male betta and guppy grass and driftwood. Basic 15w florescent.

The light is warm/yellow and the algae was alive. It has not come back since I removed it. Not much tannins, driftwood's been pretty much soaked, but that is certainly a possibility :) thanks for the suggestions.
