so some of you may recall my former stories about my friends D and E. well E was the one that had several cichlids in a 1.5g desk tank. turns out all died except for a red jewel cichlid. so he is finally going to upgrade to a 10g and go a different route, great i thought. and my friend D has a 7g hex that he got off craigslist and has set up and let me cycle over the last few weeks for him. so we go to petsmart to look at tanks for E and look at a few fish for D. well E has decided that he may want to do a 20L which i think is great. so he has to wait a few weeks till he gets paid again, so while me and E are looking at tanks D is looking at fish so we go check on D and omg he has done it again. what does he pick out? 2 tiger barbs, 1 bala shark, 1 Opaline gourami, 2 rosey barbs, and 2 green spotted puffers. just when one of my friends is finally come around to listening to me another decides to stuff all those and 2 other blue gouramis he has in a 9g hex tank. :swear: at this point i try telling him that is way too many fish and way too agressive for his tank. he says "naw it will be fine" so i again cant really do much, ive tried to get him to go online and he hasnt, ive tried showing him sites, hasnt worked. and now he has a crazy over populated 9g tank. later that night he says he thinks the tank has one too many fish and offers me a green spotted puffer, a fish ive been wanting but i havent got one because i dont have room for it, only tank open rightnow anyway is a 10g hex that im almost done cycling, probably by the end of the week it will be done, im getting nitrites and got my first nitrate reading today. im torn because i have a chance to help this fish but i know my 10g hex is no where near big enough for him when he grows, hes only about an inch right now but i know they grow way big. so idk if i can house him in a 10g hex and make it brackish till i can get a bigger tank(should be soon, im watching cl like a hawk for one) or let it sit in the small tank with all the other fish and probably die. i told him to take it back to the store but he doesnt want to and likely wont let me do it either. what should i do? anyway i can show him the light?
