I vote option 2

the green spotted puffer would be ok in the 10 until he starts getting bigger. then you should upgrade to atleast a 29 gallon and make that brackish, and then once he's full grown upgrade to around a 40 breeder and make it saltwater.

thats what i was thinking of doing, but i didnt know they need full salt when full grown, im trying to get a 30g and that is what he would go into once i get it set up, should be 2 months or so at the most. considering at the store they live in not much bigger tanks for 20 of them i think he would be ok in a 10g hex for a couple months by himself.

yea alot of people dont even know they need brackish, but when young theyre born in freshwater and then eventually transition to brackish and then to full salt. which is why i never got one bc i didnt wanna do the whole salt thing
