Ugh! My Python broke!

Do it the way Bob Bishop taught me....pinch off the hose about 4" below the cup, submerge the cup under the water and fill it, raise, unpinch, when it starts to drain put the cup under the water, it will keep draining. I never use the faucet to drain anymore. This method gives me the best pressure for draining and vacuuming. Now filling the tank is a whole different problem!

southpaw-- a little off topic but I must say-- your ram is beautiful!

Thanks...the pair I have are still pretty young and have yet to show thier true potential as far as color goes...but they do color up nice from time to time

I just used crazy glue on mine when it broke, it lasted a good year before it broke again. Might be good if you're in a money pinch.

Correspondence with the Python company...

I just wanted to update everyone. This is the correspondence I have had with the folks at Python. Seems as though they're quite reasonable at getting issues worked out. Hope this is helpful to others that have had the same problem as I have had! This is the actual e-mail correspondence!

Hi Natosha,
If any part brakes just send back the broken part and we'll replace it n/c
I will send you a new pump today
Thank you

good info to know :)

thats good to know maybe ill look for my broken part. i have my water go out side to water the trees. i hook it up turn the water on. once it starts sucking the water out of the tank ill turn the water back off. let it drain so i am not wasting as much water.

its nice when they will replace it but if your in th middle of a water change when it breaks..... no time to wait for a new one to come.

I was late getting to this one.
but I discovered python is very good at standing behind their product.

I contacted them and had no issues to get a part replaced

I also dicovered that many hose parts will work at the local hardware store and they are more sturdy.
the pump tho..let python replace that

;)

Natosha, I do something similar, but easier (I think). I put the outflow end out the window or door, depending on what I'm watering, turn the white valve near the big tube to off, dip the tube in the tank, turn it up so water drains into the hose and is full, dip the tube back in carefully to fill it, put the open end toward the bottom, flip the white switch back "on" and it's good to go. I've never liked sucking on it, as there are potentially many kinds of microscopic critters and bacteria along with dissolved poop and urine!!! Just my 2 cents.
