Uhh is my tank screwed?

Could it be because I have an open top? It's all glass like in that picture but theres no plastic thing on the top ... just on the bottom...

The LFS let me swap out the CrapGLO lighting with a jebo lighting fixture ... maybe they took off the plastic top by accident?
 
I don't know, man. did it ever occur to you to just glue it back on? :duh:
 
No. I'm going to call the LFS -- this tank is brand new ...

Glueing it back on won't solve the problem with the front bowing forward even with 3 inches to spare ontop ...
 
well, that's what you should do then, man.
 
Call your LFS. Tanks that big need that piece to help stablize it. There is no way your tank should be bowing an inch like that and there is no reason why you can't fill it to the top. I fill all mine to the top -- 75gs -- no bowing.

It's obviously defective.

Hrm, I'd do it ASAP or you could end up with a major flood.

Yeah ... I have to call them sunday ... It's Canada's Day tomorrow and everything is closed... I've lowered the level so it isn't bowing much at all anymore.

You can't fill one too much, well.... unless it runs over the top that is :)

It sounds like you're having structure problems, on some larger tanks they have a glass divider in place. It's there to prevent bowing.
 
What i'm starting to think is that they took off the plastic brace that goes ontop the tank when they removed the hood they exchanged for me -- or something.

This sucks so much, man ...
I have a ton of gravel in there and i've just started a fishy cycle with 4 danio .. =(

I couldn't find Ammonia anywhere that didn't have soap in it and i had two extra biomax bags from my 20 gallon so It was going to go oh so well too im sure =\

What a mess.
 
i wonder if any one ever had the unfortunate situation in which their tank just gave way to all the water (i.e., exploding outwards or something) either in an already established tank or just setting one up like you are.

how often do defective tanks roll out?
 
Definitley take it back. It is new and should not be in that condition. It is there for a purpose and not just for looks/lighting. I would not feel comfortable on any of my 90's if that happened.
