ummm, found cool fish, and now i want to overstock my tank

Glass cats definitely won't do well in an overstocked setup.

Have patience, wait until you can provide them with a good environment. Not to mention, being able to quarantine them...Would really suck to buy them and introduce a parasite. that takes out them plus the rest of your stock.

I had a set up similar to your dream tank - 125g, white sand, driftwood. I got rid of the white sand. The smallest amount of fish poo on the bottom shows up really bad. It makes cleaning easy and convinces you that it needs to be done, but the next day you will have more fish poo. And with enough light and enough time (mine took a few years) it will turn a bit greenish on top. I got rid of the white sand and went with a natural sand with some pebbles mixed in. Much more natural looking. Much less maintenance.

I would like to add plants though. My super hard well water is hard on them. What survives that gets dug up by the clown loaches.

No matter how many tanks you have, you will always have ideas for the next one. :)

:) i do believe your right.

nope, not planning on overstocking with these guys now. im just gona have to have patience. the species only tank, a 20, sounds pretty good. maybe my parents will want me to set up a display tank in the living room or something. thanks for all ya'lls help :)

The way to get your parents into it is to keep talkin "Science" to em. Parents love to be supportive. Chemistry, Biology,Math all that. Start dropping scientific names to them. Theyll be so proud of there little brainiac when they hear you talkin latin and loving learning. Start cheap--Yard Sales is where I get all my 10g tanks free or for afew$
