I just got back from my 24 hour Non-Pet only store (edited so I'm not naming or causing trouble) and couldn't believe my eye's. In 1 tank alone (Guppie tank) I noticed one dead fish on the gravel.. I had to look a couple times to see it was actually a fish because it had tons of white strings or fuzz covering it... I thought Oh geeze and then I looked closer..... to my AMAZEMENT there were 7 more completely covered fuzzball fishes floating at the top of that tank.... They would have had to been there for day's if not weeks!!!! I immediatly got a supervisor and showed him the tank...

I will say he got RIGHT on top of the situation and wasted no time in having someone else clean not just that tank... but ALL the tanks and they removed all the dead fish... I then left so I don't know if they tested or changed anything else.... I also explained to the manager that this show's customers that these fish are disease infested and no one will want to buy from them seeing these horrible fish conditions....

Was there anything else I should have said or done in this situation... I was REALLY tempted to just check all the tanks myself for the water levels... I feel bad for the fish that were still in that infested tank.

I was there buying cat food and I like to look and enjoy fish..

Regardless of the fact of buying or not... Any store that SELL's fish or any pet in general should take up the "responsibility" of taking care of them....

I agree it doesn't matter what you're buying, someone should remain responsible for them.
