Thanks for the responses. Just one more question, does UGF pose a problem for live plants, vice and versa?

The plant roots can grow around/get stuck in the filter plate, so don't expect to be moving your plants around much with this setup.

I like UG when ran in a RFUG set up in conjuction with another filter.
