That's what we thought when we first got started with pressurized CO2! The mechanics and chemistry can throw some off at first...!
 
Yea, scarey stuff for a newbie.

I don't bother, I just ask them to tell me their KH and then I tell them to add enough CO2 gas ONLY to lower their pH to a good level based off the chart.

All they need to do is keep the pH there. Not bad. Most folks can do that.

But that's about all there is to it.

Low light tanks with CO2 are awesome, too many folks assume that lower light tanks do not benefit from CO2, this is simply not true, some of the best looking and long term tanks I have _ever_ seen are of this type.
