Been looking into some underwater lights. They look really cool but was wondering if anyone has them and your opinions. I've only seen two brands so far, Hi-Lite and Hydor. Read some bad reviews on the Hi-Lites that say they burn out in a week or so no good there. Hydor, much more expensive ($50 at my LFS) but seem to last a long time. Anybody use them?

My lfs uses the Hydor Airo lights that have bubbles coming from them. They are really neat and fin to watch. Can you order online? They are probably cheaper that way. My lfs sells them for $20. They create a really fine mist of bubbles. The motor is about the size of a Whisper Energizer (motor).

It's probably too late to find any now, but during the after-christmas sales I picked up two strings of 50 LED lights for $2.50 each, and made moonlights for my 55 out of part of one.

Wouldn't that disorient the fish?

Mine seem to like up. I've got the UW lights and moonlight tubes.

Here's what it all looks like Sorry kinda dark
