Unidentified object on live rock?

It is stationary and hasn't moved from there since I noticed it, maybe for about a week... was thinking maybe a bristle worm or something but wouldn't they move more? Funny about the pokeman comment :) Made me laugh too!

after looking at that pic for a while i have come to 2 conclusions as to what it looks like to me
1) I agree it looks like a mushroom from mario
2) maybe a crab leg, looks a little spikey

Different angle shots possible?

It's called "PokeyMon Coraline".

I have similliar in my tanks, but usually completely red. Very slow growing and calciferous.

You know I feel like an idiot now, and I guess I didn't think too hard when I first looked at the pic, but it just came to me right now (yeah, seriously) it looks a lot like a spotted sea cucumber.

The lack of movement could be due to the fact that it's feeding and moving around in the middle of the night and coming back to that spot in the daytime. I've had several inverts that were mainly nocturnal and ALWAYS slept in the exact same spot during the day. A few hrs after the lights are off shine a flashlight in that spot and see if he's moved.

Spotted- Check!
Spiney- Check!
Cucumber Shaped- Check!

Folks, we may have a winner. It does have a striking resemblance to a sea cuke. Now, the question is whether you keep it or not and if not, how you trap it to get rid of it without overly stressing it out.

Some light reading-
Despite fears of "cuke nuke," sea cucumbers are amongst the best sandbed cleaners the aquarist can add to his or her clean-up crew.
