by far the coolest freshwater tank i've seen in person is a heavily planted one at a LFS. Not sure how big it is, but it looks to be at least 55G's. It's stocked with neon tetras, emperor tetras, cory cats, otos, baby discus', amano shrimps and some fish frys.

I love the look of the column tanks, I'm not sure what would be involved in pulling one off though.
