Unknown soft coral

I recently aquired a soft coral, but I have no idea what it is. It looks like a long potato with a piece of root attached when it is 'deflated'. and when the polyps extend it is 2-3 times as big. The shape stays the same only inflated, and the 'stalk' also inflates. I have a feeling from searches that it may be a Christmas Tree Coral, except it doesn't have any branching(at least not yet).

I will see if I can get a picture and post it, but my PC is in storage at the moment so I am at a disadvantage.

Here is a bitmap I tried. Hope this works- on the L is the expanded coral, on the R is the 'deflated' version. These are just a VERY crude attempt to show what the general shape is for this coral

Your drawing looks very much like the chilli coral I posted the link too. That isn't it?
 
Is chili coral always red in color, because this coral is about the color of cooked pork with the polyps are the same base color but with light to medium brown stripes along the polyp shafts.

I got some pics but the PC I have available doesn't have the right connections for linking the camera- it's an older model so I can't download from here. I'll keep trying to get a pic posted.

cooked pork is almost a light whitish-grey. I guess cut raw potato
that is allowed to dry out is also a close approximation of the color.

Does chili start out as a single 'bulb', then grow 'arms'? Because this coral is just a single 'bulb' with the polyps coming out of it, and when it deflates it shrinks to about 1/4 of the expanded size.

Now if I can only find someone with USB ports on their PC I can post some pics of this coral instead of trying to verbally or hand drawn examples.
