Unusual Fish Foods

when i had my red eared slider, she used to get whatever the porch lights would attract to the front porch during the summer. sometimes frogs, sometimes moths :D it was cheap and she loved it

i feed my inverts snail jello. make it myself but i guess what's weird to one fishkeeper is normal to an invertaholic :) You should see the looks I get when I tell non-fishkeepers.

Yes i am very partial to the geckos too!!!!! I have at least 20 as pets...they run the walls of my house!!!!! i help them out if they fall off the ceiling...cuz my cat loves em.. if i had no geckos, there would be so many bugs flying around inside...

i feel like that would be like having mice all over your house. don't they poop everywhere?

Zuchini, cucumber, potatoe...
I too would advise against feeding things you find in your back yard. Disease is the main issue along with pesticides that were already mentioned. If you're ok with risking your fishs' life, then fine..but feeding the fish things that are found, rather than feeding it something thats proven to be safe is not something I would do.

Ya you do get gecko poop everywhere. but its not like bird ****..not runny! they like to talk to each other too! the first time i heard them i thought there were frogs all over the place.

And to amante di betta, i live in the middle of nowhere. the only harm i would risk feeding them food from the store is the risk of the bugs being poisonous. havent fed the oscar scorpions yet...maybe someday id one is small enough just so he wont get stung. but there are no pesticides out here. pretty rural.

I feed my fish something different everyday, but refrain from anything still alive. Someone once told me they fed their oscar raw ground beef. I don't know if that is safe but it would certainly be the last thing I feed my fish! That's just me. Go ahead and feed your oscar a gecko! That's your prerogative! This reminds me of the thread What Works For Me...
I'm sure there are things I'm doing that would widen a few eyes, heh.

i feed my fish ....
-normal flakes
-bloodworms
-veg ie peas carrots
-cleaned n finely sivved cooked chicken
-boiled egg yoke "
-earthworms
-live baby brine shrimp (homegrown)
