Unusual Rainbows

My dad called them sun dogs too, but said it had something to do with ice crystals in the atmosphere...Think they are 'really' called something like parahelions. In some areas they are very common--those are much longer and more defined than any I've seen. Normally, you only get 2-3 colors in a small chunk.
I just call them beautiful! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
I saw a triple rainbow in Utah once. It was amazing, but I couldn't get a good picture from where I was because of power lines.

Couple of years ago I was driving down road after a summer thunderstorm. I noticed there was a huge rainbow off in distance. As I went farther down the road, I noticed that one end of it was in road ahead. I actually rode through the end of a rainbow. 
Of course, no gold pot was there.
