Well...at least I know what the problem is. My pet peeve and sworn enemy of the aquarium world. Ich. JOY!!! this should be fun to treat. I guess when I bought him he had it but the lower temp supressed the lifecycle causing it to show up later on.
This sucks.

Currently treating with the salt method. Going to buy meds tomorrow.

I can't respond to anything on this post till tomorrow cause I have to go.

IDK. I was thinking 'bout ich clear or mardel. Any preferences??

OK I raised the temp up to 75. I would go higher but we have goldfish here. I salted the correct amount and I am considering using meds but I don't know which to use.

Anybody have a favorite??

If you've already salted the tank correctly, stick with that. Its not very stressful and would probably be easier on your fish long term. Since you are keeping your tank at a lower temperature, make sure you dose for at least 2 weeks because ich's life cycle is significantly longer when temperatures are lower.

thank you sooo much. It will be my first time succesfully treating ich.

At least, you have experienced how to treat ich and look at the bright side, there are always lessons learned for every mistake or disaster that happens.
