another question are they more nocturnal cuz as soon as i turned the lights out he started swimming around the tank like fully out of his hiding area

Pretty looking guy you have there, very cute.

Some individuals can be pretty active whilst others can be less so, I wouldn't be concerned that he's out and about. In the wild they are nocturnal but in an aquarium they can be active both during the day and night, although they do tend to be most active at night. It all depends on the individual how active they are during the day. Also they tend to swim around alot until they find a cave they are happy with. I'd say the fact that you can hand feed him means he's pretty happy. Also on a side note I'd use tweezers or a stick to feed him, just to avoid getting a nip.

You shouldn't feed everyday, a meal every couple of days is fine. They usually stop eating when they are full so don't leave food in the tank just give him what he'll take in one sitting. I've read to avoid feeding freshwater feeder fish, stick to marine food eg squid, whitebait, shrimp, crab etc etc basically anything meaty and keep it varied.

They are excellent escape artists and will take every opportunity to get out. Make sure your tank is well sealed, especially where any cords (eg heater or powerhead) leave the tank because they just love to follow these up and out of the tank.

wello my tank it well sealed but im stil paranoid he will jump out i actuallly sleep in the living room just in case he jumped lol....but i will stop with feeders and i think i shouldf get some more rock work as well

and since both of my inhabitants ae kinda messy eaters i need something to clean up the mess....and hermits and snails and shrimp wont really work cuz my puffer just alys waste to all of them in a matter of an hour anyone any ideas?? also the next fish im looking at getting is a lionfish

I would DEFINITELY not hand feed an Eel, it may be cute now but Eels have HORRIBLE vision and your fingers are not far off from the food. Totally agree on the not feeding feeder fish, it is not good for them, plus they are crustacean eaters, not fish. When I kept Morays, I would go to the local grocery store and get frozen shrimp, some scallops and some crab meat and would feed that, they loved it!
A clean up crew is near impossible with your current crew. You can try a few hermits but they will most likely fall victim to the puffer.
I would be careful adding a Lionfish as the Puffer may very well nip the fins. Anyway, hope this helps!

well i did pick up a seafood frozen medely no spices of coarce and un cooked its got a bit of everything in it
