well, my custom hood is in process and my lights should be on the way.

Since it's a bowfont, I'm having the local glass shop cut a top for me out of acrylic. I'll have a few cut outs in the back for cords and the front third will be separate. I'll epoxy a handle on that for feeding and maintenance.

The light is a slightly used coralife twin 96W.

My wife is grumpy with me again so I haven't asked her to move her stuff yet so I can put my tank in place.

The next purchase will be a pair of powerheads (maybe three). I'm hoping to find a deal on korlia's and put them in there. A heater and some sand.

Am I correct in thinking that Argonite sand is the way to go? For a 46g tank, I should get about 30-40 lbs for a deep sand bed right?

Thanks again guys.

BTW: I got over $65 for the livestock from the tank. I think I'm doing pretty well.

I have Argonite and it is some great stuff...but I have also got some on Ebay which is also good...and CHEAP. The seller is NW atlantic...you get 30 lbs of live sand for 9.99 + 9.95 shipping which is pretty cheap. If you have a 3' tank you'll need 120-160 lbs...4' needs 150-200 lbs in order to establish a 3-4" sandbed. I think you get a shipping discount on 3 boxes or more...just ask the seller if you decide to try Ebay.
