Here are the latest photos of my muppies. The smaller one has caught up on size and color. I wish the photos could do them justice but I just can't seem to capture the boldness of the stripes and spots.

Very pretty!!!

are they breeding???

gollies instead of muppies?

They are both males so I am waiting for some juvenile female guppies to mature enough to attepmt to mate. I am told they hybrids often sterile but we shall see. I bought a beautiful female cremecicle molly last week to attempt to mate them with as well. I chose a small one that didn't look pregnant so I could qt her for about a month and then breed. The next morning I woke up to 16 baby mollies. Go figure.
Now I will either keep her in qt for a couple months to make sure there is no stored sperm or I will try to mate the muppy with one of the baby mollies once mature.

....How does muppy happen...?

I had a female guppy in with only male mollies (black and cremecicle). When she have birth I thought she must have stored sperm for a LONG time from a male guppy who had died. The fry seemd different but I had no idea why. I even post here on AC, asking why some guppy fry are born so much larger than others. I commented that they even swam differently. Well, several months later I realized they were definitely not plain guppies. Someone else had posted photos on a different forum of Muppies and they looked extremely similar to mine. Some people call them Gollies, some call them Muppies.

Very pretty! I wouldn't mind having a few of those. :grinyes:
