Updating some equipment......

Hello all.....I'm updating our 30g - filter, thermometer, pump, and heater...and would like opinions.

We live nearly 200miles away from any of the good pet supply stores...so I'm stuck with Wal Mart. I'm thinking of getting an AquaTech 30-60 and a Whisper 10-30 heater.

I already bought a whisper air pump and in-water thermometer.

What do you all think of those choices?

And what about their Lilly bulbs? Are those good plants?

H3D has it! Why bother with Walmart when you can have stuff delivered right to your door! As long as you're ordering several items it's worth paying the shipping.

I would get an Aquaclear 70 filter and a Marineland Visi-Therm Stealth 100 Watt heater. The other items you purchased should work fine, but those plant bulbs at WalMart are junk.
 
Thanks for the input. I had to go ahead and buy the AquaTech 30-60 filter.....our old AC had sprung a leak. Hubby had patched it....but it wasn't going to hold much longer. I agree on buying online when possible. Just couldn't do it this time.

As for the heater.....I bought the whisper. It is submersible....and seemed to bring the temp within good range last night. We haven't had a heater on the tank until now....it has been plenty warm at night...but has started falling into the upper sixties. The albino corys seem to be in love with the heater! lol

I didn't dis-regard your advice....just was in a corner. lol

Someone has to be the guinea pig LOL! Gotta do whatya gotta do. I wouldn't comment on the specific items b/c I have never used them. Just because I prefer using equipment I know works well, doesn't mean others are junk...at least we hope so in your case :)
Hope it works well for a loooooong time.
 
Update: It's only been a couple of days...but the whisper heater is holding the temp at 75F so far....the fish seem alot happier. The AquaTech filter makes very little noise...and the water is clearer than it was before. It should be.....it's being circulated 11 times per hour. The danios love the current from the double output.


I'll update again in a month or so!
