one of the LFS's had for $6 i had never seen them lok so lively

Unlike most other Synodontis, upside-down cats seem to do better in small groups. I have four. When it's feeding time, they are all over the tank. When the food's gone, they're right back in their cave. Although they spend most of the time hiding, you can build the cave facing the front glass so you can observe them up against their ceiling. They also seem to be quite peaceful, not even eating or going after fry in my livebearer tank. I like 'em.

can you post a pic of cave and tank

Mine dose a great job,and seems happy.........:dance2:

Hi,

I have three Upside-Downers and they are great fish! But you don't see much of them during the day. One of mine is obese:)

If I were you, I would get them.

I could post a pic of the tank, but I was only making a suggestion for the cave. I did use caves like that years ago — basically two chunks of rock 4-6" high with a slight slope towards the back of the tank, then a slab of slate laid on top of the rocks and resting against the back glass. The hiding spot mine use is not set up for viewing purposes because I prefer a more natural look, which in my livebearer tank means fewer, smaller rocks.

i saw a big one today looked larger than the 3" that the books report is a 55 gal big enough?

small kissing gourami
3 peral danios
2 glass cats
5 cories
2 odessa barbs
4 cherry barbs
4 otos
1 albino buenos airis tetra rescued from grandma's tank

I have two upside-down cats and they do indeed hide all day long. They are a little less than 3" in length now. Their markings are very cool. Neat fish, but I rarely see them. They don't even come out during water changes. Still, I give 'em a thumbs up!
