Does anyone have an experience with the upsidedown jellyfish? I know they are both photosynthetic and food lovers, and need bright lighting - but wanted to know if anyone has put them in their main tank? They seem to be like a more mobile anem as they spend the majority of their time lying on the bottom of the aquarium. I think that one of the main issues is going to be flow, as the main tank has a lot of flow and the udj like low/slow flow.

MOst jellies are very poor swimmers and end up getting stuck in tank corners. Aquariums always keep them in circular tanks with a specific current. Also they tend to need cooler water (cold actually) and will probably melt away in a warmer tank.

hey I heard that you need this special type of tank called a "jellyquarium". it looks like a washing machine. the idea is that there are tiny holes that pump water through it in order to keep the jellyfish suspended. i wouldnt recommend keeping jelly fish because those aquariums are like a $1000 dollars when I checked the price. you can see them yourself. just look up jellyquarium on google.

did you see those on ebay too?

almost as tempting as the algae and aptasia eating octopus:D

Nope, I got it at the LFS after speaking with the mgr. I have learned to trust him and so I got one and added it to my refugium. They are incredible to watch, but you have to be careful with the flow.

I've thought of adding a seahorse to the fuge (very casual thoughts). How have you handled it not going out in the flow that the fuge does have even if minimal?

The bulkhead that I am using has a screen cone to it. I also put the macro as a barrier.
