Urgent Help needed

Usually that relates to high amonia or nitrite, but it sounds as if all bacteria they had was lost in the move, especially with the totally new filter. IMO the readings indicate the cycle trying to re-establish its self, after massively being disturbed. Do you have a gravel vac? Did you rinse the old gravel before putting it back in or use all new?
 
hu yeah i have a gravel vac what came with the tank, also i did clean the gravel as i thought i was doing good but obviously not.

Surely after changing the water by 50% it should decrease the amount of toxins shouldt it?
 
I have some nutrafin cycle which i was given which says it puts friendly bactria into the tank should i put some of this in to the tanks straight away...i did put four cap fulls in when i did the water change but also says you can not overdose on the product?
 
I am not a big supporter of adding anything but a dechlor to remove chlorine and/or chloramine.

Some people on here have had good luck with Bio Spira but you must follow the directions exactly. It is a refrigerated product and has an expiration date. Some people have actually cycled a tank almost instantly.

In any case you will still have to do water changes to get the nitrites to 0 and the NitrAtes below 20. The Bio Spira and maybe your nutrafin will help get the cycle going again.

Please do not use Cycle in your tank. It does not put "friendly bacteria" in your tank -- it does not contain the correct freshwater bacteria at all -- and has been the result of more that one reported nitrite spike.

Just use dechlor, as advised, and water change the toxins out.

Does any one know where I can get Bio Spira from, I have telephoned around quite a few aqatic centres in oxfordshire (UK) and know one stocks it?
 
Wasn't aware that you were in the UK. I think there was a post on here recently about someone there who couldn't get it and was looking for someone to ship it to him.

I think the water changes with dechlor as necessary is your best bet. How are the fish this morning?

Did another test and the results where the same. I am going to do another water change now. Should I do another 50% change or should I do smaller changes more oftern today?
 
Are you sure your test kit is reliable and not outdated? Do you get the same exact readings on your tap water?

If your nitrates were 110 and you did a 50% change, I would expect them to be cut in half initially even though they may climb back up. I personally think the water changes need to continue, whether 25% every 6 hours or 50% every 12, until those readings hit 0/0/<20 and stay there. What kind of dechlor do you have/use?
