URGENT: Shark's skin coming off/infected?? Help please!

the point in making him better is that we should not let the creatures in our care suffer, ever.

hopefully the shark's owner can find it a bigger tank soon or find someone/somewhere to take it so that it will have a larger, more appropriate home.

If he is living in a tank that is insanely too small for him, he is suffering. So getting him to heal only to keep him in that tank is actually PROLONGING his suffering.

My point is that now is the time to start making plans for this fish, otherwise all this suffering was pointless and he should have been euthanized.

i disagree, if this shark is showing such amazing signs of recovery, it is not a candidate for euthanization. would you put down a dog that was perfectly healthy, yet was too big to be kept in it's current surroundings? (i know, not the most perfect comparison, but its the only one i can think of at this time).

i do agree that the tank is too small, and did say that it needs a bigger tank or needs to be rehomed. obviously Danomind loves this shark, or else they would not have done what they did to help it recover from such a life threatening wound. hopefully they do something towards improving the living quarters for the shark in the very near future.

Yes. If the dog (or any animal) was living in such cramped quarters that there was no way he could ever live a happy, healthy life, I would put the dog to sleep.

Death is better than misery & suffering - which is why euthanasia was created in the first place. Just my opinion, that's all.

The topic of euthanizing or not euthanizing an ill or injured fish is a moral question and depends souly on the person making the decision. People feel strongly towards both sides.

The shark is 10 years old, and most likley already stunted- he obviously has a strong will to live, so it must be content with its current situation. Dano has mentioned rehoming the fish- but you cannot rehome a fish with such an injury so that process will have to wait until later.

I doubt after the efforts put into this recovery that Dano will be euthanizing him, and it will take several more weeks to get the poor thing back into decent condition...

I want to see more recovery pics!

How' he doing? Pics please.

Updates!! Pics!! All of us in the cheering section want more, please.:)
