Use of maroxy for protecting betta eggs

around 3:30 I put the female in the glass chimney inside of the spawning tank. she is showing signs of good vertical striping and he's begun building the bubble nest. I haven't been in the room to view the bubble nest's construction since 3:50 or so. i'll update.

i use half a styrofoam cup cut in half then tape it to the side of the tank, the top of the betta cup might not be big enough.my betta made a nest that took up half of the ten gal, what size tank are you spawning them in?

i figured that, his nest is so small that he couldnt' even put up 100 eggs and keep most of them in there successfully. i'm gonna take out that top and try the styrofoam cup method. it's a half-filled 10 gal. also, when should i release the female?

when she is full of eggs(very fat)
when he has a bubble nest
when she shows her verticle bars and when she swims with her head down a little. dont be worried if he chases and nips a little,me female had very little fins left when i bred her with an agressive male, dont let it get too far with him tearing her up though.

he will also 'dance' he wiggles towards her flaring then swims back to his nest really fast and waits under it expectantly.

alright thx! i was actually asking about a set amount of time (i.e. 8 hours or less, a day or two, etc.) but i'm about to take that top out of there and put that half-cup in there.
