Used Baking Soda

For years I've used baking soda to raise pH but this time I grabbed baking soda that had been in the fridge for six months, big mistake! The next day the entire 150g aquarium and filter was covered in a white film that is almost impossible to scrub off. Any suggestions on how to clean it without hard scrubbing or finding a new home for my two 18" pacu?

Hot water? Vinegar?

A razorblade should take that right off. I bought one with a long handle for my 150g. I also use it to clean the glass from all that crud that builds up on the under side of it. I think it's your best bet.
