I recently purchased a Kent Marine Bio-Rocker a week ago for my 240 gal that i am setting up. Will a air pump will be needed even though the filter is designed so that it maximizes the amount of air the water its is exposed to? I might buy a air pump in case my fish don't get enough air. Also, what kind of a pump should I get?, because my tank is 24" deep and that I never have dealed with this big of a tank before.

your going to need a pump to get the water back to the tank after it drains into the rocker. you dont need additional aeration because it will get plenty as the water falls into the biorocker and all your bio will get their air from the air instead of the water, leaving more for your fish.
oh yea what else do you have for filtration because that rocker wont be enough. you will need more mech. filtration so you dont clog up the cell pore block.
Well, i already have a 1700 gph pump that has to pump two
6 ft heads, and i might put some pads in the bulkhead area.
Here is a pic of the place that i might fill it up with pads w/ carbon fillings or bio-balls.

those pumps are 1700 at 6 ft? they might lose a bit of pressure by the time they get 6 feet up. like i said before make sure the bio rocker stays clean.
i say they will be quiet weak going 6ft most have a head max and i think that might be pushing it abit got for something stronger as you can adjust the flow if needed
