Hi Friends !

Just wanted to know if I can feed the Co2 from my DIY setup in to the Inlet of the Eheim External Cannister filter (2217) ? Will it dissolve co2 well ? and more importantly I'm worried that the Co2 may react with the plastic parts and tubes / pipes of the filter and may harm the filter ? or is it safe ?

Kindly advice regarding this...

Thanks and Regards
Kush

Should work - I'd suggest using a small airstone or other type of diffuser either under or inside the intake basket so that you get a stream of smaller bubbles going in rather than a few huge ones (will be quieter that way, though you will still get an occasional "belch").

First- I have used an Eheim Pro II 2026 as a diffusor for pressurized co2 for about 6 years and have had no problems.

Second, never ever put the co2 output from DIY directly into a filter intake- you risk moving your co2 solution into your tank- filters suck hard. Place the output just below or next to the intake so when the co2 emerges it will get pulled into the intake.

GREAT ADVICE!! Back in the day when I started out with yeast+sugar co2 I made an inline injector....that didnt turn out well.
