Should I do a water change before every treatment? Approximately 30-50% is what I have been doing, but ich hasnt changed at all in the last 48 hours. The dye in the Rid Ich is very blue, but disappears after a short while, I am not using any sort of charcoal filtration due to removing it.

Im just starting to think that my betta is going to dye and for instance the albino bn pleco in with him has no signs of infestation that I can see.

I have been pretty careful not to contaminate my 15g tank altho it may have already been contaminated due to getting the same LFS snails added at the same time.

Do you have a heater in the tank that you could turn the heat up too?

I'm not familiar with Kordon but I know most of them say not to do a water change until the end of treatment.

yes there is a submersible heater in there, its set to heat to about 86, pleco starts getting a little weird as the water heats up. He starts being a little lightning fishy and scittish to me approaching.

(c) Perform a partial water change of at least 20-25%. Repeat water changes at 20-25% before each re-treatment with Rid·Ich+.

That is the direction given on Kordon's Website, they caution against using heaters with the product due to serious drop in o2 lvls in the tank.

you can offset the O2 by adding an air pump and air stone..

Turn off the aquarium light. Light decomposes methylene blue. You should keep dosing it for at least 7 days, preferably for 14 days. Rid Ich is perhaps the safest and most effective ich medication. It should work for you.

I recently used Rid-Ich and it was very effective.

One thing that is not mentioned is that it will permanently turn your airlines blue (if you have any).

I used it for 2 days after the last visible signs of ich were present. I used a magnifying glass to thoroughly examine the fish.

I know some people suggest a full 7, 10 or 14 day treatment. I just didn't like exposing my fish to chemicals for any more that necessary.
