I cleaned it as well as I could and did the vinegar test, but I had already decided to put it in the tank before I read about the boiling. So far so good - water parameters have not changed, and the single fish in the tank is doing well (the tank is new and cycling).

I would watch the tank closely, Not boiling rock that has been outside can carry alot of bacteria and disease, regardless of scrubbing.
