:help:I was recommended by 3 LFS to use Proper pH 7 for my community tank.Just got home and have read instructions which say not to be used with live plants. Is this true? If so, then why would these LFS`s recommend it when they know that I have live plants. Can anyone help before I use this please??

Why do you want to alter your ph? Its not necessary to do so unless you are keeping a special variety of fish that REQUIRE a certain ph.

there is no need to use "Proper" pH 7. like many other chemical pH changers, it will make the pH shift frequently in a small ammount of time. large shifts can be disasterous for the fish. a stable pH is muhc more important than one in the "desired range" that fluctuates.

what is your pH now?

yeah, just leave it alone. almost any fish you find in a local store will be absolutely fine in any pH in the 7's.
