UV question

i have a algae problem if i add a uv ligth to my tank will affect my refugium?

I'm sure the uv filter will be killing the algae in your tank, I'm not sure if I do the same with nutrient exporting algae. What is your purpose with the uv filter? It should not ignite for too long or you will kill your colony of bacteria, personally I never used it, I'm confident of acquiring good quality and healthy fish, in addition to the mandatory quarantine.
