UV Sterilizer to get rid of algae?

I think that was, very obviously, stated earlier. However, even when you clean your tank, stir up the gravel, remove or move--heaters, tubes, airstones, filters, simply clean the glass, etc., etc. You release large amounts of free floating "bits" to drift around and find new points to reside on--I only thought this obvious and not in need of stating. And, some algaes spread by spores. So, although you are attempting to make UV totally ineffective on them, that is not reality. So, no, your statement is NOT the whole truth!

AND THEN, there is the redox factor which DOES slow vulnerable species of algae ... algae control is but one benefit of UV ... you have to run it to see it.

If you have believed those claiming no observable results, you have been fooled. Anyone having run high levels of UV must laugh at such statements.

dude, have you been paying attention? i DO, REPEAT, I DO run uvc... and none of that other crap is in my main tank... just intake and return. not only that I'VE BACKED YOU ON A COUPLE OTHER THREADS. THIS JUST ISN'T THE INTENDED USE! :nono:

answer me this: if it's not in the water column how is uvc going to kill it? IS UVC A CURE FOR THREAD ALGAE?... NO!

Argumentative posting serves no useful purpose/benefit to anyone in a discussion thread. State your opinion... share your experience... provide some feedback. Beyond that, simply leave it alone. Thank you.

Thread closed.

Yet another thread closed?

Folks, we have to appreciate and accept that there are differences of opinion between aquarists. Everyone has a different view point on the situation. Does that make only your thoughts the right one? No, it does not.

We have to listen to other points of view, and not argue your own opinion to the point that a thread needs to be closed because of it. Its unfair on the other contributing members and more so on the thread OP who posted, looking for advice, and end up loosing out because a lot of people wont contribute to a thread that has arguing in it..that just adds up to lost information for the OP....that is unfair.

Lets keep this in mind....
