I was having some trouble with ick in my main tank, so I purchased one of these UV turbo twists and hooked it up last night. I have my fish in a separate QT tank now and am treating with copper. They are all fine now. I know the UV will kill all the ick floating in the water. So how long do I need to wait before returning my fish to the main tank? I know you should wait at least 1 month and let the tank run fallow but I was hoping the UV would speed this process up????

Personally I would wait at least 6 weeks as that seems to be the commonly accepted life cycle duration of ICH. If your uv misses even one parasite in the free floating or swimming stage and you reintroduce your fish you could end up right back where you started.
