UV?

I can't get rid of the algae problem in one of my tank no matter how clean I keep it. The algae is also growing on my live plants. I don't want to use chemicals b/c they'll kill my plants, right?

So should I get a UV sterilizer? Anything I should know about them? I was thinking I would look on Ebay. Can I run it for a couple of days and stop once the algae is gone?

The UV sterilizer will only kill the algea that are floating in the water. If the algae is stuck to plants and decorations they will not be affected by the UV filter.

Yep, best to find the source of the problem anyways. A UV sterilizer would be an expensive way to mask the underlying issue.

Look to lower lighting and nutrients (via less food)

I don't have very high lighting though. And I try not to over feed. Isn't there any quick fix for a lazy person?!

Not really...just an algae scraper.

Tank size?
Stock?
Lighting? (type, wattage, photoperiod)
