just my 2 cents
I just got back from a 2 week vacation and while we had our Brother in law checking on our cats every other day I only asked that he fed my tanks 1 time while we were gone. I left him the specific food (measured out in a dixi cup) on top each tank and told him which day to feed on. All my fishies are fine and all I had to do this afternoon upon returning was toping off water (which had evaporated about 2-3 inches from the fill line). I wouldn't have anyone else CLEAN or do WATER CHANGES for my tnaks while I was gone, but maybe, if we were going to be gone any longer then 2 weeks, I probably would ask someone to top off the tanks with a gallon or 2 on the day set up for feeding.
