Does anyone have experience with this wonderful plant?

I just got mine the other day, its putting out new growth like crazy and releasing alot of oxygen bubbles, and this is in a nitrate lacking tank. Before long I may start having to split it up and send it off to a new home, one can hope.

really have to take a good look at what I am doing wrong. My Vals are doing ok, but but I have yet to see any pearling whatsoever that I keep hearing people talk about

I just got it the other day, roots are stuck in the sand, have CO2.

The only real care I've given it is to cut off some dieing leaves, other than that, nothing major. Are you sure yours is vallisneria and not saggitaria? sag looks very very similar.

yea mine is val

As you can see they are nice and green but its growing like 1/4" a month..

How fast is yours growing exactly? i might be overreacting who knows...

Mine is Val, giant val I believe. Growth is fine. 2 new runners and plants since I have had it ( a month or so). I haven't measured daily growth, but I know that within a week the new plants went fron an inch or two to 6-8 inches, and the leaves on the established plants I would guess at having at least 3-4 inches a week, depending on the leaves

like an inch a day, its putting out new growth, at least 2 new leaves since I put it in the other day. I'm not sure why yours is growing so slowly, and mine is taking off like a rocket. Are you sure your not lacking nutrients, like potassium?

What is it that potassium does? I know Iron helps with green leaves, I dose with liquid fert (not religious about it. Don't knwo the name, just something I got from Big Al's) I had a few issues with yellowing leaves and some going somewhat translucent, but I have since learned that Vals and Excel don't play nice together so I have quit the Excel dosing and just leave it to the CO2

not sure about potassium but I have co2 running and do weekly dose of flourish.
